8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
An off-road adventure in open air Jeeps through the Baja California desert and La Trinidad mountain range, one of the least explored regions in the Los Cabos area. You’ll meet the Alfonso Sandez family; descendants of the first family who lived in Cabo, dating back three centuries. His Rancho “Lengua de Buey” is home to the only family cheese making in the area. As you taste local Baja wines, watch and take part in the process of milking, curdling, draining, and pressing ranch cheese. Sample their fabulous albeit rustic, artisan cheese along with other local favorites. Visit the charming kitchen. Alfonso’s daughter will show you how to prepare your own fresh quesadilla. Visit the corrals and farm animals, including goats, pigs, and chickens. The family possesses the most important fossil collection of the sierra; peruse the Megalodon teeth, whale vertebras, and other marine fossils as you learn how they ended up in the middle of a waterless riverbed. And since you’ll have had plenty of wine, they’ll drive you back. And you can even take a to go glass!
