New Tequila & Mezcal Bar Opening at Grand Velas Los Cabos



Nestor Daniel Can Jones has been named head Mixologist of the "Beyond All Inclusive, Beyond All Compare" Grand Velas Los Cabos. In his new position, he oversees the AAA Five Diamond resort's craft cocktails and signature beverage offerings at its four bars, including the new Tequila & Mezcal Bar opening in March. The appointment is effective immediately.

Jones has spent over 18 years in mixology, most recently as Beverage Manager at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. Prior to that, he acted as Corporate Mixologist for Karisma Hotels & Resorts heading up the beverage program and new openings in Riviera Maya, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Croatia and Colombia. During his career, he has trained under Master Mixologist, Sommelier and Diageo Ambassador Steve Olson and Master Tequilier Ricardo Cisneros. In 2017, he was a semifinalist in Bacardi's Legacy Cocktail Competition and Tequila Patron's Perfectionists, which bring together the best bartenders from around the world in pursuit of the perfect cocktail. Additionally, he was a semifinalist in Diageo's World Class Cocktail Competition in 2014 and 2015. Jones is originally from Mexico City.
