The Hub of Fishermen for Over a Century

Accessible only by air and sea, Waterfall Resort is located on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska’s 1,100-island Alexander Archipelago, near the famed Inside Passage, the historic settlers’ route turned interisland marine highway. Just a short floatplane flight from Ketchikan—the Alaska port town just 90 minutes from Seattle, Washington—and you’re transported to another world.

The 52-acre property is surrounded by the Tongass National Forest on 2,770-square-mile island’s craggy west coast. Nutrient-rich spring runoff and a confluence of ocean currents attract millions of bait fish, which in turn feed vast populations of halibut, lingcod, and rockfish—as well as the extraordinary annual returns of king and silver salmon.

The Best in Wild Alaska Angling

You don’t have to be a seasoned angler to fish at Waterfall Resort. They welcome anglers of all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned pros, and they're committed to making every guest’s stay their best fishing trip yet. Keys to their success include a custom fleet and top-of-the-line gear, expert guides, the scale of their operation, and a storied location.

Brain Storm, Team Build, Reel in Relationships

They've hosted more corporate events and group gatherings than any other Alaska fishing resort. Fortune 500 clients count on Waterfall Resort and their experienced crew for one-of-a-kind gatherings focused on leadership, incentive travel, and customer appreciation. And did we mention the team-building aspects of epic, full-service guided sport fishing?

Think about it. Another high-rise hotel, conference center, and name tags... or “Gone fishin’ in Alaska!”? We say your corporate and group events deserve a healthy outdoor setting that fuels strategic thinking. Create an exhilarating wilderness adventure that gets results at Waterfall Resort.

Hearty Buffets, Cold Beer & High Spirits

As soon as your floatplane lands and glides to our dock, the Waterfall Resort crew welcomes you and takes your luggage to your quarters. You then head to the General Store to pick up your room key, boat and guide assignments, and, if you’re so inclined, a chilled six-pack of your favorite brew. The hospitality and information center, the General Store, stocks everything from whiskey and beer to sodas, snacks, souvenirs, and toothbrushes.

After a day or afternoon on the water, the Lagoon Saloon is the gathering place for guests and crew alike, and the Dining Room, with its views of the docks and Ulloa Channel, is the setting for hot breakfasts and nightly buffet feasts.

Historic Accommodations for Today's Angler

Return from an exciting day of wild Alaska sport fishing, relaxing in comfort in Waterfall Resort’s inviting accommodations: oceanfront Lodge Rooms, historic Boardwalk Cabins, executive-style Egg House Suites, and family-size Tongass Townhouses.

Guests are hosted in true angler style. Most guest quarters once housed the intrepid fishermen of Waterfall Cannery, the record-setting salmon cannery founded in 1912. Now carefully renovated, all accommodations have ocean or forest views, private baths, and in-room conveniences such as coffee/tea makers and mini-fridges.

Amenities also include daily housekeeping and ice delivery. And every room and suite is within walking distance (or a courtesy golf-cart ride) of the docks, Dining Room, and Lagoon Saloon
